Social Support Groups are held weekly in various locations across our Shire. These sessions provide an opportunity for attendees to meet with other locals, participate in activities, share a meal and go on outings.
Transport can be provided to client's to get to and from the sessions.

BASScare - Maranoa House
Dementia/Memory loss specific planned centre-based activity and day respite program at Maranoa House, located in Canterbury, 10km east of the CBD. Our offering does not include in-Home Care.
We offer a warm, friendly and welcoming environment for persons with dementia and their carers.
Programs Include: In-House Programs (Monday-Friday), Italian Program (In-House: Tuesday & Friday), Going Out Club (Wednesday, Friday & Saturday), Just Blokes (In-House: Wednesday) & Younger Onset Program (Thursday).
Transport is available within a 5km radius of Maranoa House, and lunch is provided for centre-based activities. Referrals from Doctors are welcome for persons with memory loss.
Baralaba Community Aged Care Association
Baralaba Community Aged Care offers a range of activities including fortnightly Hoy, Rummikub and Coffee mornings down town. We also host a movie group and arrange occasional day trips to special events.
Standard Hours: Monday to Friday: 8:30am to 5:00pm.

Provision of a range of social and recreational group activities for older people to maximise their independence at home and in the community for as long as they choose or are able to do so. We support carers to take a break from their usual caring responsibilities. Activities available Tuesdays, Thursday (fortnightly) and Friday are Cooking, Arts and Crafts, Woodshed, Fun & Games, Tree Propagation and Day Excursions. We also provide individual social support and assistance with transport depending on availability.

Carers support
Our services can support carers through respite programs and education programs to assist with managing the needs of the person they care for. Carer support programs and services
are designed to give relief to carers by offering support when and where it is needed the most.
Men's group
We have social groups for men, focused on keeping them socially engaged while enjoying activities at our centres or within the local community.
Social activities - individual and group Social support assists clients to participate in community life and feel socially included though companionship and activities in their local communities. These activities can be group based at one of our centres or community excursions or individual support to complete shopping and bill paying activities
Harold Hawthorne Community Centre
Small Group outings to places of interest (such as restaurants, coffee shops, markets, museums, nurseries, parks, concerts and so on). Harold Hawthorne community centre transports clients to outings and returns clients home. Morning and afternoon tea is provided and clients purchase lunch as per venue attended menu prices.
