Where: Pick up from & returned to your home

The WA Country Health Service (WACHS) is a State Government organisation providing comprehensive health services to country West Australians.
WACHS spans 2.55 million square kilometres and is the largest country health system in Australia covering the whole of the State outside the metropolitan area.
Despite vast distances, WACHS provides health services to residents and visitors that include emergency and hospital services, population, public and primary health care, mental health, drug and alcohol services, Aboriginal health, child and community health and residential and community aged care services.
WACHS provides aged and community care services for older people across our communities, including aged care assessments, community care, residential aged care, subacute and acute care, and transitioning older people from hospital back into the community.
WACHS is a provider of CHSP services such as domestic assistance, personal care, meals and food services, and transport.

Carers support
Our services can support carers through respite programs and education programs to assist with managing the needs of the person they care for. Carer support programs and services
are designed to give relief to carers by offering support when and where it is needed the most.
Men's group
We have social groups for men, focused on keeping them socially engaged while enjoying activities at our centres or within the local community.
Social activities - individual and group Social support assists clients to participate in community life and feel socially included though companionship and activities in their local communities. These activities can be group based at one of our centres or community excursions or individual support to complete shopping and bill paying activities.
City of Marion - Positive Ageing & Inclusion - Sturt
The City of Marion offers a variety of social group activities including lunches, men's groups, activities, information sessions, culturally specific groups (Italian, Polish, Persian) and exercise classes (for all fitness levels). The social group activities are conveniently located in our four (4) City of Marion Neighbourhood Centres. In addition, City of Marion offers bus outings and transport. The services support your independence, wellbeing and social connections.

Our weekly social support group enables older people with early- moderate dementia to engage with their peers to break down isolation, have social interaction with each other and have community access, resulting in enjoyable days and giving respite to their carers from their caring roles. Our activities enable each individual to engage and participate in activities to their best ability. We welcome you to call us for our activities program. Limited pick up areas however if clients can access transport they are welcome to participate in our social support group activities
Multicultural Communities Council of Illawarra- Dementia Social Support Group Shoalhaven
The program provides assistance to older people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds to attend and participate in especially designed group activities. The program aims to maintain and improve their physical, social and psychological well being. In addition the program gives carers a much needed break from their caring role. The activities include: Morning tea, culturally appropriate meal, games and crafts, outings, therapeutic activities, activities based on individual needs, lifestyle support workshops, health and well-being development and other lifestyle and leisure activities.

Our activities enable each individual to engage and participate in activities to their best ability. All people of various languages are welcome however a basic understanding of English is required. Transport arranged to limited pick up areas, however if clients can access transport, they are welcome to participate. We welcome your call for further information and our activities program.
