Staying active and connected with other people in a nurturing and safe environment is a vital part of enjoying life. Anglicare’s group activity sessions are designed to encourage you to participate in a full range of stimulating and therapeutic group activities, including:
• Exercise classes e.g. swimming, walking, seated exercises • Relaxation and stress reduction
• Balance and falls prevention • Safety in the home
• Memory and cognitive training • Healthy eating and nutrition
• Education options
Sessions aim to help you reduce your risk of isolation, improve your health, and strengthen your links with your community.
Group sessions are conducted in the community. However, Anglicare also offers Social Support for Individuals that can be hosted either in your own home or in your local community.
Eric Hart Centre - Karingal St Laurence (genU)
Social support-groups provide an opportunity for participants to attend and engage in social interactions away from home. The structured activities are provided in a group-based environment and designed to develop, maintain and support social interaction and independent living.
The groups held at Eric Hart Centre have ~ 10 Participants.
Activities are based on participants interests and may include:
• group-based activities promoting physical activity, cognitive stimulation and emotional wellbeing e.g. news discussion, music, craft, pool/snooker etc.
• group excursions conducted by staff but held away from Eric Hart Centre.
Services include light refreshments, a meal (If attending over lunch time) and associated transport and personal assistance involved in attendance to the program.
Program activity plans are developed in consultation with participants and available on request.
Metro Community Hub
Social support for groups/centre based day care, including outings and an in centre day. Other activities to enhance wellness. We offer transport for people living north of the Brisbane River to Hamilton.
Southern Plus: South West Home Care Services
Southern Plus recognizes the importance of clients maintaining their contact and engagement with community activities. Our social groups are an ideal way to get out and about with the peace of mind of knowing there is always a Support Worker there to assist you. Social Groups are available through a day center program and a social outing. The Social Group calendar is jam packaged full of regular outings and events such weekly exercise groups where we will try a variety of activities such as walking group, music and movement and Tai Chi. Our weekly shopping allows you to spend some time at a major shopping centre to buy or browse, or sit and chat with friends.. An annual calendar for special events will ensure that there is always something new to try and celebrate in the social groups.

Castlemaine Health - Adult Day Service
Castlemaine Health Provides Social Support services through the Adult Day Services. Programs run through this service include, Monday Alex Club, Monday Men's club, Monday Bowls, Active Tuesdays- Active Choices, Wednesday club, Strength training, Carers café catch up, Friends on Friday and Friday Explorers Program. The groups provide support to clients with a range of support needs from Low to High. Our staff will work with clients and their carers to identify the most appropriate group.
Southern Plus : Bran Nue Dae Care Services
Southern Plus recognizes the importance of clients maintaining their contact and engagement with community activities. Our social groups are an ideal way to get out and about with the peace of mind of knowing there is always a Support Worker there to assist you. Social Groups are available through a day center program and a social outing. The Social Group calendar is jam packaged full of regular outings and events such weekly exercise groups where we will try a variety of activities such as walking group, music and movement and Tai Chi. Our regular shopping trip allows you to buy or browse, or sit and chat with friends. Regular cultural celebrations. An annual calendar for special events will ensure that there is always something new to try and celebrate in the social groups.

Be a part of our community and join groups including age-appropriate exercise, music, gardening, art, craft, dance, digital essentials (phone/tablet) skills, men's and women's shed.
Programs are tailored to one's choice and focus on wellbeing.
Our Men's Shed provides a place to work on an individual project, fix something, help with maintenance jobs around the centre,
contribute to special group projects - and enjoy a chat with the guys.
Fun is the essence of all activities.

People can be picked up and can access a number of groups depending on needs.
Transport and meals are provided as part of the program.
