ADEC - Carers Social Support Group
ADEC’s Carers Groups Program offers a unique social support opportunity for carers and care recipients to come together, share their experiences and gain knowledge from information sessions related to their situation.The program was established over ten years ago and has since grown considerably to include 16 language specific support groups for the following communities; Afghan, Arabic, Chinese, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Karen, Turkish and Vietnamese. The group is run by bi-lingual Facilitators.

Multicultural Communities Council of Illawarra - Portuguese Social Support Group
The program provides assistance to older people from Portuguese background to attend and participate in especially designed group activities. The program aims to maintain and improve their physical, social and psychological well being. The activities include: Morning tea, culturally appropriate meal, games and crafts, outings, activities based on individual needs, lifestyle support workshops, health and well-being development and other lifestyle and leisure activities.
