Our services can support carers through respite programs and education programs to assist with managing the needs of the person they care for. Carer support programs and services
are designed to give relief to carers by offering support when and where it is needed the most.
Men's group
We have social groups for men, focused on keeping them socially engaged while enjoying activities at our centres or within the local community.
Social activities - individual and group Social support assists clients to participate in community life and feel socially included through companionship and activities in their local communities. These activities can be group based at one of our centres or community excursions or individual support to complete shopping and bill paying activities.

We can provide door to door transport if needed. From the moment our driver & volunteer greets you right through to the end of the day you will enjoy good company, good food, great activities and outings, music and entertainment – all coordinated by our Leisure & lifestyle team and surrounded by your new friends.

St John's Community Care Mareeba & Atherton Tablelands
St John’s Social Support Groups provides assistance with your social needs and encourage seniors to stay active. Groups activities are run in a homely environment with a home cooked meal, provide the opportunity to interact with other people and the carer to have time out. Our Social Support Group programs provide a range of activities from short half day programs to full day. The activities include for example; outings, social discussions with others, intergenerational Childcare visits, trivia games, group walks, watching a movie with others, gentle exercise sessions, therapy sessions eg music, and a range of allied health professionals. We work with you to create a Care plan that’s right for you, maintaining your wellness. Each individuals care plan & services are delivered, monitored, reviewed and reassessed regularly. Our staff undergo training for their role, ensuring quality care services are delivered.
