South Gippsland Hospital Social Support Group FOSTER
South Gippsland Hospital Social Support Groups are a Department of Health funded service provided for people aged 65+. The groups offer an opportunity to socialise and enjoy activities (both in our facility and out in the community) with a meal provided. Transportation is supplied if required.
We have two groups currently operating as follows:
Tuesdays 9.30am to 2.30pm
Thursdays 9.30am to 2.30pm
Both groups offer a range of different activities, including but not limited to, art, craft, games, woodwork, DIY, gardening, seated exercises, board games, Bingo and guest speakers.
There are many reasons to join one of our Social Support Groups:

Manningham Men's Shed is a friendly, welcoming shed where men can get together to chat, work on projects, play some pool, make art or just hang out.
Maroondah City Council Aged Services
Broad scope of options in-house and community based to suit everyone and activate the body, mind and soul. Choose from face to face social groups full or half day, Monday Men's group, The Shed, online group programs (VERA), LGBTI+ peer social group for 50+ years of age. Outings. Carer support groups. New referrals very welcome. We aim to socially connect people in meaningful ways and prevent feelings of loneliness and heighten feelings of belonging.
These services are offered Monday to Friday and based at Kerrabee, in the surrounding gardens and includes The Shed for those who enjoy woodworking, furniture renovations and other projects - all located in a leafy Croydon street

Diversitat Aged Support
Designed to promote CALD (Culturally And Linguistically Diverse) clients to remain in their home for as long as possible. We aim to support clients to meet their wellbeing goals through interesting and healthy programming aligned to our clients’ interests and choices
Other established group Karen/Karenni – Burmese/Myanmar, Italian men, Macedonian Men & Women and International Women. We have bilingual staff and volunteers and aim to support our clients meet their individual goals both physically and mentally and spiritually.
Regular programs include bus trips, yoga, Friday meals day, Easy Moves for Active Ageing (EMAA) exercise program, walks, gallery & café visits. We have a variety of musical performances which our clients are encouraged to participate in. We have transport to and form the groups if required. Our chef prepares meals/snacks daily.
We provide a culturally and spiritually safe environment for CALD, LGBTIQA+ & ATSI communities.
City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters - Home Support Program
Includes group social support programs such as Lunch at the Pub, Excursions and Strength and Balance class . Transport can be provided to Lunch at the Pub.
BASScare Social Support Services
Learn, Laugh and Lunch weekly group on Wednesdays for Seniors with higher care needs (may have a carer who needs respite for a day). Inquiries Welcome PH: 9880 4709.
