Alfred Health Carer Services
Cottage respite gives carers who provide support to someone aged 65 years and over (50 years and over for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people) with respite. This service offers care recipients residing in the south metro region of Melbourne, a short stay away from home, and is delivered in partnership with Benetas (Hurlingham) Respite Centre in Frankston. Your care recipient will stay in a cosy home-like environment with a small group of 4 people with similar interests and care needs and enjoy a range of leisurely indoor and outdoor social activities. Trained staff provide continual support during this service. Fees for this respite start from $55 per night and include accommodation, leisure and social activities and home-cooked meals.

The Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) allows individuals, their carers and families the opportunity to have a break, to spend time with family and friends or to continue to participate in social activities and community life.
We offer Cottage respite so you or your carer get the opportunity to take a short break. You can stay overnight, in a cottage style environment with one-on-one support, or your carer might like to take a night off, while you are supported in your own home. Services are provided for a maximum of three consecutive nights, however longer stays can be negotiated.
