Alzheimer's WA - Shenton Park
Alzheimer's WA's households have been developed using research evidence on how to maximise a person with dementia's abilities and enhance a greater sense of wellbeing. The households operate just like your home; fresh home cooked meals tailored to individuals needs and likes, meaningful activities that support the running of the household, a working shed and therapeutic garden space for getting outside, leisure interests and outings, and most importantly friends to share time with. Private bedrooms can be personalised to help with a sense of familiarity and we work closely with you to learn about your loved one, their routines, likes and dislikes and any health concerns they may have. We recognise for you to enjoy a break you need to be comfortable and confident that your loved one is enjoying a great experience supported by our caring dementia expert staff.

Southern Cross Care (WA) Donovan House Respite Centre
Being a full-time carer for a loved one can be challenging, which is why it is important that carers take a break or time away from their usual care responsibilities to look after their own health and wellbeing.
Carers often find themselves saying no to social events, not getting enough exercise or losing touch with their own sense of wellbeing because they are busy caring for a loved one.
Having access to respite care only gives carers the chance to attend to everyday activities, work or take a short break, but also provides numerous benefits for the person being cared for.
Southern Plus offers a range of flexible, day or short respite options either in-home, at one of our respite centres or short-term in one of our residential care homes.
We have three properties dedicated to day/cottage respite, Tony Quinlan Respite Centre located in Hilton, Donovan House Respite Centre in Forrestfield and Bran Nue Dae in Broome.
