1. Receive the outcome of your assessment

After you have been assessed as eligible for short-term restorative care, follow this pathway:

If you are assessed as eligible for short-term restorative care services you will receive a letter of approval from the Aged Care Assessment Team.

Keep a copy of the documents you receive as you will need to give these to your service provider when you are ready to receive care.

You have six months from the day after you receive approval to start receiving care. If you don't enter care during this period, your approval will end. This period will be listed in your approval letter.

To check if your approval is still valid, call My Aged Care on 1800 200 422.

If you have concerns about the assessment outcome in your approval letter, you have the right to seek a review of the decision.

If you are assessed and approved to receive short-term restorative care, the next step is to find a provider and work out the costs.
