Parkinson's SA
Parkinson's SA provides specialised support, information and education to people with Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders and their family carers. Social Workers provide one on one counselling and support by phone or face to face and can inform people of and refer people to other community programs. These include Parkinson's SA seminars and specialised educational sessions which aim to encourage self management and independence. Support Groups in metropolitan and country areas provide a mutual aid model of care that gives people the chance to come together with others in the same situation, usually once a month. The organisation is client centred and will advocate for people on an individual and systemic level.
