You can take part in our engaging and meaningful group-based activities for people living with dementia. Dementia Australia provides group social support services tailored to your individual interests, needs and abilities. We support you to enjoy activities and to engage with others in your group. There are centre-based activities, community outings to places of interest, craft and woodworking groups, and more.

On the Gold Coast, we offer group social support including:
• Group Activities at Cedar House, Mudgeeraba (arts and crafts, ‘men’s shed’, gardening, mini-golf, cooking)
• Special Interest Programs (personalised activity groups - photography, shopping, walking, painting)
• Full Day Programs (tailored group activities - visiting cafes, music events, beaches, art experiences)
• Memory Lane Cafe® (social gatherings for people and carers to connect)

Meals on Wheels SA - Playford
These services focus on providing meaningful food and dining experiences to support social connection and wellbeing. Groups include, but are not limited to:
• Meals on Wheels branch lunches - MOW Customers can enjoy their regular Meals on Wheels SA lunch at their local branch with the company of other branch customers. An opportunity to meet the volunteers who prepare and deliver their meals.
• Coffee at the café or lunch at the pub - Customers are invited to meet at the local café or pub and enjoy the company of others whilst having a meal.
• Physical activity and lunch group - Customers can participate in a physical activity session specifically designed to meet the needs of older people, then stay on after the session to enjoy their Meals on Wheels lunch together.
• Cooking and food preparation classes - In a fun and safe environment, customers are assisted to prepare a shared meal, learn about food, the importance of good nutrition and food safety

Designed to promote CALD (Culturally And Linguistically Diverse) clients to remain in their home for as long as possible. We aim to support clients to meet their wellbeing goals through interesting and healthy programming aligned to our clients’ interests and choices
We have bilingual staff and volunteers and aim to support our clients meet their individual goals both physically and mentally and spiritually. We also have established groups such as Karen/Karenni – Burmese/Myanmar, Italian men, Macedonian Men & Women and International Women.
Regular programs include bus trips, yoga, Friday meals day, Easy Moves for Active Ageing (EMAA) exercise program, walks, gallery & café visits. We have a variety of musical performances which our clients are encouraged to participate in. We have transport to and form the groups if required. Our chef prepares meals/snacks daily.
We provide a culturally and spiritually safe environment for CALD, LGBTIQA+ & Indigenous communities.
