EPIS Marble Bar
EPIS provides group excursions and activities both in and away from the centres. Clients can enjoy trips out of town to waterholes, rivers and larger towns to allow them to engage in activities such as fishing, camp fires and bush medicine. Inside activities are organised when the weather is conducive. These might include painting, arts and crafts, gentle exercise, music, bingo, board games and yarning about old photos.
City of Port Phillip - Aged, Access & Inclusion Department
Social Port Phillip's Social Support Program provides older residents, those experiencing dementia and who are socially isolated the opportunity to participate in recreation and cultural activities. Programs offer people a social and active experience in a relaxed, safe and fun environment. The program offers a community transport service to pick up social support group members from their home, and back home again after the activity. Residents need to be registered with My Aged Care to participate in this activity.
Social support groups consist of:
- Social groups for older people
- Exercise and outdoor activities
- Film outings.
Gateway Community Services - Refer to Social Outings
The “Monthly Movies” program is a monthly group for people who are over 55, high functioning, low physical support needs and independent in regards to personal care support requirements.
Members meet once a month on a Monday between 8.30am – 2.30pm. The program allows for choice of movie depending on what is screening around the time of arrival. The group is supported by Gateway Community Services' qualified staff, trained volunteers and door to door Community Transport Service. Residents of Hobsons Bay and Yarraville, enjoy the nostalgia of watching movies at the Sun theatre, and those living in the city of Maribyrnong or Brimbank South attend the Village Cinemas in Sunshine.
“Monthly Movies” is a great way to increase social activity, encourages inclusiveness whilst giving an opportunity to see the latest movies. Members are given chance to have brunch or lunch at various restaurants, bistros, cafes etc., depending on the most appropriate screening time.

Social Outings
“Out & About” is a fortnightly social activity group for people who are over 55, high functioning, low physical support needs and independent in regards to personal care requirements. O & A focuses on ‘Fun, Food and Friendship’ and services residence living within the Brimbank Municipality. “O & A” is a great way to increase social activity whilst taking in the sights of Melbourne. The program is supported by Gateway’s door to door Community transport and members are collected from their own home, and returned directly home after the program. The group will get together between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30 pm including transport fortnightly on a Friday. Activities may include picnics or walks through parks and gardens, taking in a movie, visits to museums, exploring Melbourne’s wonderful food venues whilst enjoying lunch and good conversation with other members of the group. The choices are endless! Members of this group are encouraged to have an active say selecting the activities
NCN Health Numurkah Primary Health Services
Numurkah Network is a program that offers regular events that provide a friendly place to share a meal, catch up with friends or make new ones, and enjoy a range of activities that help to improve health and wellbeing. The program has a calendar of events that run every week on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Most of our events cost $10.50 for Pension and Health Care Card Holders which includes morning tea and lunch. Some activities cost a little bit more. All prices are displayed on our event calendar. Other payment options are available. Referrals should be made via My Aged Care for clients 65 years or older (or 50 years and older for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander persons).
All other referrals should be made via our Intake Coordinator, via Connecting Care.
