Our aim is to improve the physical, social and emotional wellbeing of our community.
A Planned Activity Group (PAG) is a group social activity that focuses on maintaining the older person’s ability to live at home while being involved in their community. They promote friendships and a sense of belonging and encourage independence by drawing on personal strengths and interests.
Our fees are charged based on income, starting from just $10 per consultation.
The PAG group runs as follows:
Wednesday- Mixed group, Out and About
Thursday- Ladies group, Out and About
Friday- Ladies group, Site Based at Yarra Junction
Good Neighbour Council Launceston Inc. Day Centre
SENIOR MIGRANTS 65 years and older and registered for CHSP services: The Good Neighbour Council Launceston provides its members Day Centre respite every Friday, 10.00am – 2.00pm at the Greek Community Hall, 2 Norwich Street, South Launceston. Members enjoy low impact exercise classes, social interaction, fun activities including outings, musical entertainment and guest speakers on a range of aged related topics. Refreshments and a light lunch are provided for Day Centre participants. Cost:$10.00 DOUBLE REFERRAL required stating Social Support Group AND Meals at the Centre.
Vision Australia Bendigo
Vision Australia provides telephone, centre based activities as well as excursions to support people with vision impairment to continue socialising and stay involved in hobbies, interests and sports. Participants meet according to shared interests or needs.
Bethanie Community Care - East Metro
Centre based respite with Bethanie can be planned as a regular occurrence or simply when an unexpected need arises. Clinical assessment and care plans ensure quality care and support for the care recipient, giving the carer complete peace of mind. Whilst the carer can take time for themselves, their loved one is engaged in an organised program of activities and outings designed to increase social interaction and pursuit of their interests. Bethanie have specifically trained staff and programs to provide support for people with dementia
Nedlands Community Care
Social Group outings to places around the Perth area to popular locations, concerts, entertainment. Movie Days in a centre, Quiz Days. General Group Social events. Staff are experienced with dementia clients.
Silverchain
Our social centres are designed to help you make new friends, engage in your interests and hobbies with others, and even develop new ones. Managed by our care team and volunteers, we can help you participate in activities that keep you connected, independent, and healthy.
Our activities can differ across centres and are catered to each of our members’ interests and needs. They can include music and art and craft sessions ,BBQs and picnics, cooking and meal preparation, gardening, and light exercise classes. We can also offer guest speaker activities, community group events and social outings in the community.
You’re welcome to sit with us for tea and a casual chat, or join a group to share your favourite stories and interests with others.
We change our activities regularly so that you can benefit from a wide range of experiences with different people. Spending time at our centres can also give your carers time to rest and care for their needs.
