Uniting AgeWell Tasmania Home Care Packages Southern
At Uniting AgeWell (UA) we believe older people, like people of all ages, want to live in an environment of choice, empowerment and wellness, able to access support and care as they choose. UA Southern Tasmania offers a wide range of services to enable older people to remain active and independent, and living in their own communities, including Home Care Packages, Centre-based Respite for Home and Community and National Respite for Carers.
Our highly skilled team works closely with individuals and groups to help them achieve their personal goals.
Our Home Care Package service covers Level 2 and Level 4 clients. Services and programs include referrals to physiotherapy, occupational therapy, falls prevention, health promotion education and social activities.

Vietnamese Social Support Group-Community and Cultural Connections

Vietnamese-Speaking Group Schedule:
Every Friday, 9:00am – 2:00pm: Group activities at the hall
One Monday per month, 8:30am – 3:30pm: Outdoor activities/outings
Group Activities Include:
Gentle exercises such as Tai Chi, Yoga, Dance theraypy, zumba for seniors, and more
Fun games to stretch the brain – bingo, cards, dominoes, and more
Guest speakers based on clients’ interests and needs
Information, advocacy, and referrals to help clients live independently at home and in the community
Cultural celebrations and events
Arts and crafts
Morning tea and a healthy cooked lunch are provided with a client contribution of $10.00 per person per day.
Door-to-door transport is available upon request for clients living in the Inner West and Canterbury LGAs (subject to availability), with a small client contribution.

Biala's Inspired Aged Living (Social Support Group) caters to residents living independently in the East Lake Macquarie area over the age of 64. Our primary focus of this service is to prolong the capacity of each person to live in their own home and maintain their active role in the community whilst adding to happiness & independence.
Biala's Inspired Aged Living Social Support Group program is committed to seeing you stay in your own home for as long as possible by providing excellent care, stimulation, community inclusion and social Interaction. We offer home style cooked meals on a daily basis along with club lunch outings, shopping trips, bingo, card games, arts & crafts, along with many other exciting experiences
Biala will pick up and drop home as part of the service.
Sydney Community Services - CALD Activties
This service provides social inclusion and community connection based supports for elderly persons from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. SCS has Spanish, Italian, Chinese, Iranian and Afghan groups. Activities include:
• Day trips
• Cultural celebrations
• Luncheons
• English, cooking, computer, sewing and art classes
• Gardening
• Gentle active aging and wellness exercise programs
• Aging, disability and community services information sessions.

Men's group
We have social groups for men, focused on keeping them socially engaged while enjoying activities at our centres or within the local community.
Social activities - individual and group social support assists clients to participate in community life and feel socially included though companionship and activities in their local communities. These activities can be group based at one of our centres or community excursions or individual support to complete shopping and bill paying activities.
