Resthaven Community Services - Northern
Enjoyable social activities in a group, out of the client’s home and in, or from, a community setting. Working with the client, we develop activities based on preferred and stated interests, hobbies and abilities: bringing together people with a common interest, to participate together. Staff and volunteers are trained in supporting people living with dementia. Some activities are tailored to support people with dementia to retain skills, and to participate at the level they are most confident and comfortable with. Programmes include group-based activities that promote physical activity, good thinking and socialisation: social club (bus trips). Activities are flexible depending on interests and skills people bring to the group. Centre-based activities currently held at Elizabeth. Transport to and from the venue and personal assistance may be provided, depending on the person's circumstances.
