Port Augusta Cottage delivers day and overnight respite accommodation where recipients can enjoy in their very own home away from home. It is a pleasant environment where each guest receives individual support, care and attention. Clients, carers and guests and encouraged to utilise the onsite facilities.

A house located in Mount Gambier provides an opportunity for you, the carer, to have from one night and up to a week (day and night) of planned respite, while the person you care for (the client) is supported by experienced staff in a home style setting. Working with you and the client, assessment is undertaken and tailored support such as personal care, medication management, and activities are provided to meet the client’s assessed needs, capacity, abilities and interests. Services and activities include a focus on daily living skills to support client independence. Staff are trained in supporting older people and people living with dementia. Transport to and from the venue may be provided, depending on you and the client’s circumstances.
