Rushworth Community House
The Rushworth Community Transport Service is a transport service which provides social support and access to medical and associated medical procedures that are not available within the town precinct but in larger towns in the surrounding area (Bendigo, Echuca, Kyabram and Shepparton). Services are for the disadvantaged - people adversely affected by isolation, have mobility problems, lack of access to mainstream public transport services, do not hold a valid driver's licence or are on low income. Please note there is a small fee attached for the service.
Social support is characterized by the companionship and the assistance provided to a client in the course of the volunteers driving duties. This may include conversation, physical support in getting in or out of a vehicle, carrying items, guiding a client in to the place of appointment, and helping to negotiate on the clients behalf with other service provider
