City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters - Home Support Program
Provides shopping transport services to local shopping centres ie Norwood, Marden, Avenues, Firle Plaza. These services are door to door and form part of a continuum of shopping assistance services provided by the Council. The services can cater for clients who can access the Community Bus ( weekly service) to those who need to be transported to their shopping centre in a Motor Vehicle. Social Support ( escorted shopping) is also available for those who require assistance completing their shopping. Transport ( and the Social Support component) provided in the Car Service is delivered by a Community Support Officer. This service is available on a fortnightly basis. Tumbarumba Community Transport provides affordable, accessible transport options for people living independently in their own homes who are transport disadvantaged. Our services assist people who have difficulty accessing mainstream public transport or who have no access to private transport. Our services include group transport to the shops and social bus outings. We also provide individual transport to medical and other health related transport and social appointments. Our service operates Monday to Friday from 8am. Medical appointments to larger centres may need transport provided earlier and this is available. All of our drivers are volunteers and we provide a fleet of 4 vehicles made up of small busses and cars with 3 being wheelchair accessible.
