"Based on individual assessment, qualified, registered allied health professionals work with client to establish a tailored plan of treatment that may include individual or group therapy, exercises, self-management of chronic conditions. Services are provided by or under supervision of allied health professionals, with a preventative, maintenance, or restorative focus, to support the client to be independent. Services include:
• Podiatry
• Occupational therapy
• Physiotherapy
• Social Work
• Speech pathology
• Nutritional advice
• Education in use of equipment
• Exercise/gym classes
• walking/falls prevention/balance groups
• Tai chi, Chi Ball
• Condition-specific (Parkinson’s, stroke/pulmonary conditions, arthritis, diabetes) self-management.
Some services are provided at Marion while others can be organised in the Onkaparinga area. Please enquire. Transport to and from venue and personal assistance may be provided, depending on the client's circumstances.

Podiatry – Brookvale
Podiatrists treat conditions of the feet & provide assessment, treatment & education to assist in managing & preventing complications including ulceration, amputation & infection in high risk clients. The services aim to preserve mobility & independence & prevent hospitalisation. Northern Sydney Local Health District Podiatry Services accept referrals for people who have diabetes, renal disease, rheumatoid & other autoimmune diseases, spinal injury, spina bifida, transplant recipients, poor circulation & numbness of the feet. Clinics are held across the health district at hospitals & community health centres. Interpreters are available. A medical referral is required. Personal care such as toenail cutting & management of calluses for people without chronic medical conditions is unable to be provided. Clients who are unable to attend hospitals or community health centres can be referred to the Lane Cove and North Side Community Services for access to In-Home Podiatry services.

Physiotherapy - Manly
Community physiotherapists provide assessment and treatment for people with physical problems caused by injury, illness, disease and ageing. Physiotherapists offer a wide range of services including the assessment, treatment and prevention of conditions that have resulted in loss of muscle strength or endurance and limit the clients’ ability to walk safely, maintain their balance, use stairs safely or perform activities of daily living.
Therapy activities include: falls assessment and management; joint and muscle pain management; mobility assessment; home or group exercise programs; provision of aids and equipment to meet individual client needs and support therapy plans. Physiotherapy services are provided to individuals as well as groups for example: falls prevention exercise programs. Interpreters are available if required.
