The focus of these services is assisting older people to regain or maintain physical, functional and cognitive abilities which support them to either maintain or recover a level of independence, allowing them to remain living in the community. The Allied Health and Therapy services works closely with WSLHD Community Nursing.Services Provided:Dietetics Occupational TherapyPhysiotherapyPodiatry Speech Therapy.The Allied Health service in Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) work with you in partnership with the WSLHD Community Nursing, Aged Day Services, GPs and other service providers.

Podiatrists treat conditions of the feet & provide assessment, treatment & education to assist in managing & preventing complications including ulceration, amputation & infection in high risk clients. The services aim to preserve mobility & independence & prevent hospitalisation. Northern Sydney Local Health District Podiatry Services accept referrals for people who have diabetes, renal disease, rheumatoid & other autoimmune diseases, spinal injury, spina bifida, transplant recipients, poor circulation & numbness of the feet. Clinics are held across the health district at hospitals & community health centres. Interpreters are available. A medical referral is required. Personal care such as toenail cutting & management of calluses for people without chronic medical conditions is unable to be provided. Clients who are unable to attend hospitals or community health centres can be referred to the Lane Cove and North Side Community Services for access to In-Home Podiatry services.

Allied Health Services provided include Centre and Home based services and therapies for Dietetics, Occupational Therapy, Social Support Groups,
Physiotherapy including Lymphoedema support, Podiatry, Social Work, Speech Pathology and the Statewide Equipment Program
