Bendigo Community Health Services - Podiatry
The BCHS Podiatry service will support you to live independently by helping with mobility and function issues, foot care and monitoring foot health. Our podiatrists manage foot and lower limb conditions through prevention, assessment, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation. Our podiatry service is offered at Eaglehawk, Kangaroo Flat, and Central Bendigo sites. A home service may be available if you are unable to leave the home. There is a $15 fee for our service and $20 fee for a home visit, and a Pension and/or Health Care card is required in order to be eligible for this service.

Based on an individual assessment, qualified and registered allied health professionals work with client to establish a tailored plan of treatment that may include individual or group therapy, exercises, self-management of chronic conditions. Services are provided by or under the supervision of allied health professionals, with a preventative, maintenance, or restorative focus, to support the client to be independent. Services include:• Podiatry
• Occupational therapy
• Physiotherapy
• Formal counselling
• Speech pathology
• Nutritional advice
• Education in use of equipment
• Exercise/gym classes/falls prevention
• Tai chi, Chi Ball
• Aquacise.
• Condition-specific (Parkinson’s, stroke/pulmonary conditions, arthritis, diabetes) self-management.
Sessions are conducted at Elizabeth with some services (e.g. Occupational Therapy) provided in the person’s home. Transport to and from venue and personal assistance may be provided, depending on the person's circumstances.
