Community members wanting to learn to master their iPads, play a quiz or participate in some seated exercise can visit the Day Therapy Centre at Salem’s service at Hume St. Salem is conveniently located just minutes from Toowoomba’s town centre.
There is a regular Tuesday morning session (9.30-11am).

Resthaven Community Services - Marion
Based on an individual assessment, allied health professionals work with you to establish a tailored treatment plan that can include individual or group therapy. Services may be provided on a short term or episodic basis and are provided to support your independence with a preventative, maintenance, or restorative focus. Services may include:
• Podiatry
• Occupational therapy
• Physiotherapy
• Formal counselling
• Speech pathology
• Assessment for home safety and equipment needs
• Education in use of equipment that supports independence
• Exercise/Gym classes/Falls prevention
• Tai Chi, Chi Ball
• Condition-specific (Parkinson’s, stroke/pulmonary conditions, arthritis, diabetes) self-management.
Sessions are conducted at Marion with some services provided in your home. Transport to and from venue may be provided, depending on your circumstances.

Community Health - Maroochydore
Community Health Social Workers provide counselling in relation to depression, anxiety, grief and loss, social isolation and future planning for individuals with chronic physical health conditions and their carers. Carer support and counselling available. Exclusions: marriage/ drug and alcohol counselling, completion of forms eg. centrelink, housing; medico legal assessments.
Community Health - Caloundra
Community Health Occupational Therapists prescribe equipment and home modifications to improve the level of function of individuals who have a condition or disability which impacts upon independence, including conditions associated with ageing. Occupational Therapists visit individuals in their home and provide intervention for falls prevention, pressure injury management, and increasing the safety associated with activities of daily living such as showering, toileting and transfers. They complete home safety assessments and applications to the Medical Aid Subsidy Scheme for equipment where appropriate.
GV Health - Rural Allied Health Team
The Podiatry service available is a high-risk foot model and is unable to provide routine nail/foot care.
The Speech Pathology service is currently not available
The Occupational Therapy service is experiencing high demand with waiting times of 12-18 months.
