Community members wanting to learn to master their iPads, take a quiz or participate in some seated exercise can visit the Day Therapy Centre at Salem’s service at Hume St. Salem is conveniently located just minutes from Toowoomba’s town centre.

You can focus on restoring, improving, or maintaining your independence, ability and wellbeing with Dementia Australia’s allied health and therapy services. We offer the following services:
• Counselling to assist people with dementia, their families and carers. This is so you can identify and use your internal resources in creating positive outcomes for resolving problems, identify external sources of support, and live as well as possible.
• The Brain Works Program to assist you to maintain a sense of purpose, quality of life and independence. This program focuses on promoting safe social engagement through facilitated group discussions and activities, and by sharing tips to stimulate the brain.

We tailor and coordinate a Care Plan with you. It is designed to meet the needs identified through your My Aged Care assessment. Your Care Plan will include a range of cohealth services or other services in the community.

Our dietitians and exercise physiologists can provide you with specialist advice and support on managing your diet and exercise to improve your overall health and well-being. This can be done on a one to one basis or with a group.
Our podiatrists and physiotherapists can work with you to improve your mobility and strength, allowing you to be more independent and participate more in your community. Our physiotherapists will start with your current functionality and, in consultation with you, develop a plan for improving this functionality over time. Our podiatrists will assess your gait and factors that will affect your mobility and discuss a plan to enable you to maintain or enhance your mobility.
