Being socially active is essential to maintaining good mental health and wellbeing. We can help you stay connected with your family and friends, so you can continue to do the things you love.
Our care team provides elderly social support that can help you indulge in your favourite hobby, visit family and friends, and even try something new. We offer a range of services so you can stay involved in your community and maintain your independence.
Activities can include visiting a café for a coffee or go shopping, attending local community events like football games, theatre, or other spiritual activities with like minded people, and helping you spend time with your friends at home.
We also have a number of dedicated social centres designed to bring people together and to help you connect with others. You can choose to spend one-on-one time with your care team or join a group activity with others.
Bass Coast Health - Wonthaggi
Volunteer Transport Drivers – Transport clients to medical appointments, treatments, admissions and discharges when no means of transport is available to the client. Transport trips can be made locally or further distances such as Melbourne, Traralgon and areas in between.
Home Visits – Volunteers visit members of the community on a weekly/fortnightly basis offering companionship to the socially isolated.
Telephone Webb Contact – Volunteers phone/email the elderly and socially isolated on a regular basis offering companionship.
People Who Care South East
People Who Care can offer a variety of Social Support services. Social Outings are offered weekly, varied, and created with your involvement from visiting cultural centres, seeing the wildflowers, or taking an Op Shop adventure. These structured activities are provided in a group-based environment and designed to develop, maintain, and support social interaction and independent living.
Also, People Who Care offers Social Support Individual services which is a one-on-one personalized support to help you participate in a variety of community activities, such as shopping, or social events.
