Mersey Community Care Association
The aim of the Mersey Community Care Social Support Service is to provide clients with personalised care and support, specific to their needs placing and emphasis on achieving the clients wellness and reablement goals.. A caring volunteer is available to provide shopping assistance, visit a client for companionship, a game of cards, go for a walk or provide respite for a carer. This service is available from Monday to Friday, between the hours of 8.30am and 5.00pm. There is a $5.00 fee for the Social Support service.
This service is offered to clients and their carers living in the Devonport, Latrobe, Kentish and Central Coast Municipalities.

Our BlueCare services can support carers through respite programs and education programs to assist with managing the needs of the person they care for. Carer support programs and services are designed to give relief to carers by offering support when and where it is needed the most.
Men's group
We have social groups for men, focused on keeping them socially engaged while enjoying activities at our centres or within the local community.
Social activities - individual and group social support assists clients to participate in community life and feel socially included through companionship and activities in their local communities. These activities can be group based at one of our centres or community excursions or individual support to complete shopping and bill paying activities.

St John Community Care (Companions) SA - East
An individualised service where a volunteer is matched one to one with a client, based on similar interests, skills and personality to provide companionship, social engagement and support to engage in activities that enable the older person to maintain a sense of meaning and purpose, even in times of increasing frailty. Activities may include social outings, home visits, getting out and about in the community, learning together, sharing interests (music, cooking,crafts, model trains etc), doing things together (eg. shopping /movies/ arts), capturing and/or sharing life stories and more. All activities are personalised and are designed around the needs and interests of the client.
