Northern Regional Aboriginal And Torres Strait Islanders Corporation
We are a not-for-profit organisation that provides support services to frail people, people with disabilities and their carers in the Townsville and Bowen areas. Services provided include the Home and Community Care and the Community Aged Package Program (Home Care Level 2) funded by the Australian and Queensland Governments. We also have a hardship fund to help clients who are severely financially disadvantaged.
Our client demographic are high risk financial hardship and suffer social isolation. Staff, families and volunteers work hard to meet the holistic needs of our clients.
Historically developed from an Aboriginal & Islander family who voluntarily started helping elders within the Townsville & Thuringowa communities; (now Townsville City) the service is proud of its origins, its elders and those who have worked hard over 20 years to make the service what it is today. The Corporation is culturally managed, and has a unique person-centred model of service.
