Planned Activity Groups
Planned Activity Groups provide the opportunity for people who are isolated due to disability or age related issues to come together in a social environment and participate in activities supporting their ability to remain living at home in their communities. A nutritious meal is provided as part of each program.
At MOSS all our Planned Activity Groups are sited at Office of Housing Older Persons estates in spaces shared by tenants to varying degrees. As such these groups provide a ‘drop in’ service to persons living on the estate but who are not clients of the program.
Our aim is to offer physical activities that contribute to the health and well-being of clients, art activities which encourage creativity as well as thinking activities that challenge clients cognitively in an environment in which participation is encouraged.
In our rooms we wish to create a space in which in which each individual is accepted and made to feel welcome by the group.
