A meeting place for older people to connect through social interaction, games, healthy aging information sessions and monthly outings. Our social support groups aim to provide a friendly environment where members feel welcomed, are enabled to continue living independently, and remain connected to their community.
The group is facilitated by staff and volunteers and meets on Fridays from 10am to 2pm at Newtown Neighbourhood Centre, 11-13 Darley St, Newtown. Light refreshments are provided but members are asked to please bring their own lunch.
This service is for people aged 65 and over (50 years or older if you identify as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person), who live in the Inner West Sydney Local Government area. Transport to and from the group may be provided upon request, at a cost of $25 per person.
