Description

Our Flexible Respite service, affectionately known as the Buddy program, supports community clients to remain independent in their own homes and engaged with their communities and the things they love. Clients work with our experienced Buddy workers to define their service; a trip to the seaside, a day in the garden, lunch with a friend or just time at home playing board games. We employ a “do with, not for” attitude to maximize the clients ability to look after themselves. In turn, their family caregiver get some well deserved break. Our Buddy program is an award winning service for adults who can’t completely care for themselves anymore. Services are available from 3 up to 5 hours, with availability of up to 10 hours per week.
NB. All SCC Community Respite service in Darwin offered under the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) are available till 31st June 2021 under the Department of Health CHSP Flexible service provision allowance.
