Domestic assistance: working with the client to maintain their home environment. Services include supporting the client to complete tasks such as:
• house cleaning (assistance with cleaning floors, bathrooms and wet areas, stripping and remaking beds)
• dishwashing
• washing and ironing clothes and/or laundering of linen
• shopping and/or bill paying (unaccompanied)
• help with meal preparation
• washing of household linen or provision and laundering of linen
• de-cluttering and rubbish disposal
• minor pet care
• other small domestic tasks the client is unable to do
Trained staff work in partnership with the client to do domestic tasks under the client’s direction. The focus is on working with the client to maintain their independence, and promote reablement (maintaining or rebuilding the client’s ability to achieve whole or part of domestic tasks). Staff are trained and skilled in supporting older people and people living with dementia.
