Established in 1959 by the Central Methodist Mission as a hospital for the aged, Bethesda is a local landmark in the Brisbane community. It has a grand and majestic past, with many notable Brisbane identities, including a Lord Mayor, calling it home in the 1800s.
The name Bethesda, adapted from the scriptures, has taken on the meaning 'healing of the spirit' - A fitting description for a residence that specialises in dementia and palliative care.
The main homestead is home to 61 residents, across three units, each with their own spacious sitting room and dining room, some still with original fittings and fire places.
The peaceful Orana Court is a separate safe environment for people with dementia and offers residents easy access to a sunny outdoor courtyard overlooking the beautifu
