South East Social Connection is a community program that operates from the Forest Hill AgeWell Centre, with a 2nd site run from Orana Neighbourhood house. Both Centres offer a range of dynamic social connection programs aimed at reducing isolation, promoting wellbeing, and assisting older people to make friends and engage with their community. Programs include: centre-based activities, community outings, home visits, exercise groups, men’s activities, music, culturally specific activities, transport to shopping and appointments all delivered by trained lifestyle and allied health staff.
A flexible range of carer support programs is also offered including: day respite for care recipients, carer groups, outings, retreats and short breaks. The care programs focus on independence and choice, allowing carer connection with their passions and interests, and also providing time out from caring roles.
