Each of the eight 'houses' has its own kitchen, dining room, lounge, family room and activities space. Upper floor houses have balconies where residents may relax, enjoy the view, or watch the comings and goings. Ground floor houses have their own spacious courtyards with gazebos and extensive landscaping.
The name “The Plains” derives from the suburb name. Also, as a topographical feature, “plains” evoke images of what we want The Plains to be for our residents – relaxed, accommodating, spacious and fruitful.
The village is blessed with an abundance of indoor and outdoor spaces for residents' and relatives' enjoyment. These include library, 300-seat community hall, café, central courtyard, town square, swimming pool (with spa nook), barbeque pavilion, pond area with gazebo, children's playground and residents' workshop. A hairdressing salon is another well-used village amenity.
