Working in partnership with participants, we develop group activities based on preferred interests, hobbies and abilities. Some activities are tailored to support people to retain or learn new skills, and to participate at a level they are most confident and comfortable with. Group-based activities may include:
• art, craft and other hobbies
• men’s, women’s and mixed social groups (games, guest speakers, entertainment, bus trips, lunch outings)
• wellness groups (gentle exercise, massage, education and discussion)
• educational activities/courses.
Activities are flexible depending on interests and skills people bring to the group. Group based activities are currently held at venues in the Onkaparinga area. Transport to and from the venue may be provided, depending on your circumstances. Staff and volunteers are trained in supporting older people and people living with dementia.
