Description

Mulakanya Flexible Aged Care provides services to frail aged Aboriginal people from the Tiwi Islands 50 years and over. Services can either be provided within the home setting or within Mulakanya Flexible Aged Care Facility. This helps ensure people from the Tiwi Islands can access culturally appropriate services as close as possible to their communities. Individuals may be admitted to the facility for respite, short term accommodation while they recover from a recent illness, for permanent long term care or palliative care/end of life care or services maybe provided within the community. Consideration is also given to referrals for Tiwi people who are under the age of 50, if the person has aging issues and/or high or complex needs.
