Plateia is a social support group which operates Wednesday – Friday weekly from 10.00am – 6.00pm.

Plateia aims at providing culturally and linguistically appropriate day respite/ social support to elderly Greek-speaking individuals, residing in their own homes, with a diagnosis of memory-loss, dementia or those experiencing social isolation and loneliness.

Emphasis is placed on increasing the quality of life of participants as well as providing a break to carers and over the years, Plateia has assisted many carers in prolonging the time their loved one remains at home.

Plateia provides participants with transport (to and from), meals, an extensive range of recreational activities as well as access to physiotherapy and podiatry services which foster active aging and general well-being.

Most importantly, emphasis is always placed on individuality and activities as well as the care Plateia participants receive is individually modelled to reflect their own needs and abilities.
