We endeavour to ensure accessibility to services and that all residents are treated in a respectful manner acknowledging gender identity and orientation, age, disability, ethnicity and cultural and socio-economic background.
Our integrated range of services for older people and people with disabilities and their carers includes information services, assessment, domestic assistance personal care, respite services, food services, home maintenance, senior citizen’s centres, planned activity group and a community centre.
The fundamental purpose of these services and supports is to maintain and enable people’s independence and participation in community life.
City of Ballarat’s social support group programs can help you to stay socially active and provide an opportunity to meet others and participate in a range of activities. Our social support group activities offer the prospect of friendship, socialization and fun with a number of programs to suit different needs. Bus trips in the local and surrounding districts visit places of interest and attend lunch at various venues. A social group is held weekly at Kohinoor where participants enjoy morning tea, lunch and a variety of activities including regular guest speakers. Gentle exercise and Tai Chi classes are offered weekly for support, fitness and social interaction. The mobile PAG provides an opportunity for small groups of 2-4 people to meet in the local community. The programs are designed to provide participants the opportunity for choice and decision making in all aspects of the program.
