Hutt Street Centre provides access to Occupational Therapy services for both on-going and episodic support for people who are at risk of homelessness. The Occupational Therapist aims to assist the older client to maximise their strengths and build skills to participate effectively in everyday activities. Occupations are seen as the everyday activities that occupy time and energy and give meaning to people’s lives. The Occupational Therapist completes practical standardised and non-standardised assessments and interventions that support the older client’s needs. These can include: Functional and cognitive assessments; Home safety assessments; Motivational interviewing and intervention; Sensory screening and intervention. Occupational Therapy services are provided individually and in group settings, both in the home and on site.
