DADAA Midland’s studios offer a welcoming and supportive environment, which facilitates individual creative expression through the design and production of artworks. The workshops provide the opportunity for artists to tell dynamic stories and demonstrate how people who are ageing including those living with mental illness or disability can be nurtured and empowered through individualised support structures. The studios also encourage greater participation of Aboriginal people in arts activities that support the cultural and personal needs of individuals. The programs establish good practice guidelines for other Aboriginal centres, formal and informal skills sharing and non-accredited training in responsive art development. Midland also has the same staff working in North Metro and Ellenbrook.
