I need to have a break from my services. How do I do that?
You may want or need to take a break from your services for different reasons. If you’re going on a holiday or have a scheduled hospital stay, make sure you talk to your service provider about the details in advance.
Each type of care is different, so ask your provider how a break can affect your services and fees while you’re away.
Can I stop my services?
Can I change providers?
Yes, you can. We know there can be a number of reasons why you may want – or need – to change providers.
If you’re comfortable talking to your current provider, it’s a good idea to speak to them first. However, if you prefer, you can call My Aged Care on 1800 200 422.
Will I need to change providers if I move from Commonwealth Home Support Programme services to a Home Care Package?
Possibly. Some service providers offer both. If you’re currently receiving Commonwealth Home Support Programme services, the best way to find out would be to talk with your provider.
