Residential everyday living

Residential everyday living are the hotel-type services that meet your day-to-day needs in an aged care home, such as meals, laundry and social activities. It also includes maintenance services, such as cleaning, heating and cooling, and the upkeep of the grounds and building.

This service includes:

  • meals and refreshments
  • cleaning, utilities, and laundry
  • social activities
  • basic toiletries
  • furnishings
  • facilities management.

  • Activities to keep you social, such as group shopping trips, bingo games, and arts and crafts sessions
  • General upkeep of the grounds and building, to ensure your living conditions are clean, safe, and well maintained. 

How can I access this service?

You can access this service if you have been approved for permanent residential care or short-term residential respite services, or through the Transition Care Program.

Aged care homes

Suitable for older people who can no longer live independently at home and need ongoing help with everyday tasks or health care. Also called residential aged care.

Transition care

Short-term care and support to help you regain your functional independence and confidence after a hospital stay.
