There's a lot to consider when you are selecting an organisation to provide you with aged care services. This section helps you find the services in your area and steps you through what to consider.
Start by finding services in your area
If you haven't been assessed yet, find out how to apply for aged care services, or read more about finding a provider below.
Aged care providers are responsible for entering information about their services for this site. My Aged Care cannot guarantee this information is up-to-date. You should check this information with the provider before you make a choice. See the My Aged Care terms of use for more information.
How to find the right services for you
There are four key things to consider when you are looking to set up an aged care service: the service, costs, availability, and quality. There may also be situations where you need or prefer to use a private aged care provider. It’s important to find the right match for you.
How to find out what it will cost
How much you pay depends on the type of help you need and the specific services you receive. This section explains how to work out what you might need to pay.
What to do when you've found your preferred provider
Agreeing and starting your services
Once you’ve chosen your preferred provider, they will work with you to finalise schedules, services, and costs.
What else do people ask in this step?
Do I need an income and assets assessment?
If you want the government to contribute to the costs of your care, you will need to provide your Home Care Package provider or aged care home with an assessment letter. Find out if you need one and apply now.
How do I know if there are any quality of care issues with an aged care home I’m considering?
The government assesses all aged care homes against regulations and quality standards. The assessment results are shown in the profile of each provider in the Find a provider search. You can read more about how we assess quality.
