Berengarra

Set in leafy garden surrounds, Berengarra - an Aboriginal word for land around Kew - offers an innovative approach to public residential aged care that values and preserves a person's dignity, independence and identity. Berengarra offers 90 contemporary single rooms with en-suites, across 3 floors. There are also 12 sets of adjoining rooms to accommodate couples, siblings or friends who want to stay near each other. Each floor is smartly zoned into private wings of no more than 8 bedrooms to create a welcoming sense of community among residents. Berengarra is part of St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne's Residential Services - a leading and trusted provider of aged care, in partnership with the Victorian Government. St Vincent's and its residential facilities share a rich history or compassionate care and support through our founders, the Sisters of Charity.

The Department of Health, Disability and Ageing assess the quality of care at all government-funded aged care homes. Based on these assessments, each home receives a Star Rating as a simple way of showing information about the quality of care they provide and how they compare to others. If you pay a refundable accommodation deposit or a refundable accommodation contribution, they may be subject to retention. Any daily accommodation payment you make may also be subject to indexation. Learn more about aged care home costs and fees.

Specialisations with a check mark symbol are verified by the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing under the 1997 Aged Care Act. After the initial verification, these specialisations are reviewed every 3 years. Read more about how the specialisation verification process works.
