How to change your current services

Situations and needs change, and when they do, you need to make sure your services adapt to those changes.

A few things to keep in mind are:

  • when you receive services – for instance, if you’re going on holiday
  • the services you receive – if your needs change while you’re receiving care
  • your service provider – if you’re moving or not happy with your current provider.

How do I see the services I’m currently receiving?

If you’re not sure which services or type of care you are currently receiving and want to check, you can do this in your Online Account. It contains information about your aged care services, assessments, service providers, and more.

How do I manage my services?

If you need to make some changes to your service arrangements, there are different options depending on the type of care you receive. Choose the option that applies to you:

What if my needs have changed?

If you are receiving services but find that your needs have changed, you may need a support plan review or a reassessment. As a first step, speak to your current provider. They will review your care and services plan and see if there’s something more they can do to support you.

Your provider will then contact your assessor. Your assessor may change your support plan to meet your new needs, or they may decide that you need a reassessment.

You can also call My Aged Care on 1800 200 422 to request a support plan review or reassessment, if you prefer.

What if I have concerns?

Your provider has a responsibility to respect your rights and provide you with quality services. Find out more about your rights under the new Aged Care Act.

If you have concerns about the services you’re receiving or the service provider, it’s important to raise them. There are different ways to make a complaint.
