Hammondcare Waratah

With over 90 years’ experience in delivering expert aged care, HammondCare is a leading provider of care for people with complex needs including dementia. HammondCare Waratah's village comprises four homes, each made up of small cottages for between 9 to 17 residents with similar needs including dedicated environments for people living with dementia. Modelled on real households, the cottages feature HammondCare's leading design principles - setting the gold standard of care recommended by the Royal Commission. Cottages employ evidence-based, accessible features including easy outdoor access and family home kitchens to promote independence. Care team members receive specialised training and use a relationship-based approach to provide 24/7, registered nurse-led care. They learn about each person's history, passions, values, and hobbies to help them maintain a fulfilling life. Additional personalised services such as pastoral care are provided to enhance comfort and quality of life.
