Steele Haughton Unit is a specialist psychogeriatric residential facility centrally located in Dana Street Ballarat. The facility has 20 single rooms. There is a well-appointed activity room and two lounge rooms with flat screen TVs and access to DVD players for resident use. There is a large group of engaged volunteers who assist with scheduled activities to ensure residents have the opportunity to participate in areas of interest. All residents' beds are electric and height adjustable. Sensor mats are provided as a safety measure for any residents who are assessed as at risk. Residents are encouraged to personalise their space with soft furnishings, photographs and mementos. All rooms have access to telephone lines and television antenna. Each bedside area, bathroom and lounge area has access to the nurse call bell should staff assistance be required. Residents also have access to a secure courtyard with barbecue facilit
