Uniting Westmead

Located in the bustling Sydney suburb of Westmead, Uniting Mayflower Westmead is a happy and welcoming aged care service. If you choose to become a resident, our caring team can assist you with personal care (such as showering and getting dressed), managing your health and medication, and all of the day-to-day jobs that have become tricky to manage. We make life easy by looking after the cooking, cleaning and laundry, and will work with your family to develop a support plan that’s right for you. In December 2019, the Commission raised concerns about the assessment and care planning processes at the Mayflower. We have worked hard to address those concerns, implementing a continuous improvement plan. We are now awaiting a further assessment by the Commission. Until then, we are confident we have addressed any concerns and are now able to demonstrate full compliance with all standards and requirements.

The Department of Health, Disability and Ageing assess the quality of care at all government-funded aged care homes. Based on these assessments, each home receives a Star Rating as a simple way of showing information about the quality of care they provide and how they compare to others. Read more about Star Ratings.

If you pay a refundable accommodation deposit or a refundable accommodation contribution, they may be subject to retention. Any daily accommodation payment you make may also be subject to indexation. Learn more about aged care home costs and fees.

Specialisations with a check mark symbol are verified by the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing. Each verification lasts for 3 years from the date it was granted. Once it expires, providers can apply again if they want to continue to be recognised for a specific specialisation on the Find a Provider tool.
