Monash Health Community Aphasia Support program (ASP)
This provider offers services through the Commonwealth Home Support Program.
Communication Groups for people with Aphasia facilitated by a Speech Pathologist and Allied Health Assistant.The groups offer opportunities to practice communication skills in a relaxed friendly environment.
The aim is to assist people to regain social confidence and self-esteem, establish support networks,assist participation and integration back into the community.
It provides ongoing support to individuals and their families as they adjust to the major life changes resulting from aphasia.
Activities include discussing current affairs and occasional community outings .
The program does NOT provide therapy.
