Halcyon Dementia Social Support Group - Monash Council
This provider offers services through the Commonwealth Home Support Program.
AVAILABLE TO MONASH RESIDENTS ONLY Halcyon provides centre-based social support for people in the early stages of dementia or memory loss who can participate in group activities with minimal support. Participants enjoy a calm, structured day that supports social connection in a safe and welcoming environment. Our trained dementia staff provide group-based supervision with an emphasis on independence and enjoyment. A typical day includes morning tea, group activities, shared lunch and a relaxed afternoon activity. Activities may include reminiscence, music, arts therapy, memory games, gentle movement and social conversation. This service also offers reliable respite for carers. Best suited for: people in the early stages of dementia who can follow group instructions and do not require one-on-one or personal care and can communicate in English. Not suitable for: people with moderate to advanced dementia, high care needs or requiring constant supervision.
