Community physiotherapists provide assessment and treatment for people with physical problems caused by injury, illness, disease and ageing. Physiotherapists offer a wide range of services including the assessment, treatment and prevention of conditions that have resulted in loss of muscle strength or endurance and limit the clients’ ability to walk safely, maintain their balance, use stairs safely or perform activities of daily living. Therapy activities include: falls assessment and management; joint and muscle pain management; mobility assessment; home or group exercise programs; provision of aids and equipment to meet individual client needs and support therapy plans. Physiotherapy services are provided to individuals as well as groups for example: falls prevention exercise programs. Interpreters are available if required.
